Known for his perseverance and resilience both on and off the track, Bam embodies the spirit of motocross at Glen Helen. His recognition as the inaugural public honoree sets the standard for riders who show heart, grit, and passion for the sport.
Gary Jones is a legend in American motocross — a four-time AMA 250cc National Champion who helped define the sport’s early era. His racing success, mechanical ingenuity, and relentless drive made him one of the most respected figures in motocross history.
Growing up around machines in Southern California, Gary developed a deep understanding of performance and design that fueled his racing career. He captured consecutive AMA 250cc titles in 1972, 1973, and 1974, winning on different motorcycle brands — an accomplishment unmatched in AMA motocross lore.
Beyond racing, Gary contributed to bike development and mentoring the next generation of riders. His achievements earned him induction into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2000, solidifying his legacy as a pioneer and ambassador for the sport.
